The Junior Ship Digital Twin Modelling Engineer supports the development of 3D ship digital twin models using Rhinoceros 3D. This role focuses on converting 2D plans, point-clouds, and engineering data into accurate 3D geometry to support digital twin, simulation, and visualization purposes.

3D Modelling Support

  • Build 3D models of hull, structures, piping, decks, and equipment using Rhinoceros 3D.

  • Assist in preparing digital twin geometry based on GA plans, equipment schedules, and as-built drawings.

  • Apply project-defined modelling standards, layers, LOD, and naming conventions.

Point-Cloud & Scan Data Handling

  • Support integration of point-cloud data into Rhino environments.

  • Clean, segment, and interpret scan data under guidance from senior engineers.

  • Assist in validating as-built geometry accuracy.

Documentation & Outputs

  • Generate sections, layouts, and visualisations from 3D models.

  • Prepare reports, screenshots, and clash coordination outputs.

  • Maintain documentation, revision records, and model updates.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior modellers and project managers.

  • Coordinate with data engineers and software teams for model handover and integration.

  • Participate in model review meetings and adopt feedback for revisions.

  • Diploma or Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 0–3 years of experience in CAD/3D modelling (ship modelling experience preferred but not mandatory).

  • Basic to intermediate skills in Rhinoceros 3D.

  • Exposure to point-cloud tools or ship engineering drawings is advantageous.

  • Ability to read GA plans, structural drawings, and equipment layouts.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Proactive attitude toward improving modelling accuracy and speed.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with supervision.
