STORIES

SEAFARER STORIES 2025:
Show us your world

Win the CFARER Award with the real view.
Beautiful or rough.
Ordinary or rare.

Making maritime life easier starts with you.

Show us what only seafarers see! The quiet shifts and the heavy weather. The small rituals that keep the ship moving. On deck, in the mess, in port, alongside — we are open for all of it.

Share a photo from your world. If you have an idea of what you want to show, but no image, you can also create an image with AI. Just say so when you submit.

What’s in it for you?

Win the CFARER Award. Five winners. €1,000 each.
Judged by our panel for authenticity, safety, and storytelling. See T&Cs.

Spotlight your craft. Selected entries will be featured on CFARER channels.

Be heard. Whether you want to inspire or build understanding, your view helps the community see maritime life more clearly.

What to send?

Format: Photo (vertical or landscape)

Deadline: 15 April 2026 (23:59 UTC)

Where it appears: Selected entries will feature on CFARER social channels and in campaign highlights. Additional usage is not excluded. Please check the T&C.

What could your submission be?

A truth from life on board. The calm before cargo ops. The noise after.

That one thing only seafarers understand. A fix that keeps you sleeping when the sea won’t.

A feeling you can’t capture with a lens. Use AI to recreate it. Tell us it’s AI and we’ll label it clearly.

The moment that makes you glad to be out there. A sunrise off the bow. The coffee a mate drops at your post.

Anything else that shows your working world. You decide what matters.

How to send it?

  1. Submit via the form below and complete the detail to participate in the competition.
  2. Having trouble with the form? Email your file and details to .

That’s it. We’ll review weekly and share highlights throughout the campaign.

Prizes are awarded only where lawful for the recipient. If rules or employer policies prohibit gifts, we may substitute or withhold the prize.

DO

  • Tell a real story from your work or watch.

  • Make sure everyone in frame has given permission.

  • Follow all onboard safety rules and local regulations.

  • If an image is AI-generated, say so in the caption.

DON'T

  • Don’t enter restricted areas or break safety/compliance to “get the shot.” That’s just not worth it.

  • Don’t show third-party logos, proprietary manuals, or sensitive cargo/operations. Shipping is very serious about safety and security.

  • Don’t name and shame your colleagues, employer, partners, or counterparties. Shipping gets rough. This space stays respectful.

“Most days aren’t epic.

They’re careful, routine, and heavy with responsibility.

That’s the real sea.”

— Diderich Buch, Chief Strategy & Partnerships of CFARER
